“Wild Atlantic Opticians & Living is one of the most magical stores I have seen anywhere in the world; a quirky, creative journey of discovery that reveals new wonders with every step.Set in an old townhouse on the high street in beautiful Kilrush on the Wild Atlantic Way, the business was a full-service and expert opticians until the pandemic, when owner and mother of four young children, Julie Neylon added a totally new business - a gift shop on the first floor above the opticians. The team also built a brand new website and a full suite of social marketing too on Instagram.

The gift shop is filled with wonderful, charming products, that reflect the passions and interests of the team; from sustainable toys to books, beauty products and Irish design specialities.Online fulfilment and gift wrapping happens at the counter and there are host of pick your own and make your own gift options too.The merchandising is simply gorgeous and there’s storytelling point of sale graphics throughout.There is no shopfit anywhere in the opticians or the gift store. Instead they use found furniture, upcycled materials, creative props and framed pictures throughout.This is unique independent, family owned, team driven retail at its absolute best.
